Faction
Smaller groups of people within a larger group of people. In Divergent, there are five different factions.
Aptitude
Aptitude is the suitability of something. In Divergent, the characters all take an aptitude test that determines which faction is suited for them.
Divergent
Divergent means to go in different directions. To be a divergent means that you do not belong in only one faction.
Initiation
A process or ritual that is used to formally accept a person into a certain group.
Abnegation
A faction where people are selfless.
Amity
A faction where people value kindness.
Candor
A faction where people are honest.
Dauntless
A faction where people are brave and daring.
Erudite
A faction where people are smart and knowledgeable.
Simulation
Computer-generated scenarios that seem real.
Sector
A portion or section of a large area such as land.
